Cable Hang Gliding >>
Ever wanted to experience the thrill of hang-gliding, but your
'respect' of heights has prevented you? If Airborne Action could
remove your worry of controlling the glider...and associated risks,
would you have a go?
Cable Hang Gliding has an advantage over traditional hang-gliding,
as people feel (and of course are) much safer being attached to
a cable which acts as a safety line. So it's perfect for those
who have always wanted to hang-glide but have never been game.
It's also great therapy for those with a fear of heights.
Cable Hang Gliding is a safe, fun activity for all, (age or disability
pose little or no barriers). The only restriction that we do have
is a maximum weight limit of 110kg.
Cable Sky Diving >>
If you are a thrill seeker, and cable hang gliding sounds a bit
tame for your tastes then let us suggest Cable Sky Diving. It provides
all the ingredients of fear, excitement and a pure adrenalin rush.
Sky Diving is an aspiration many have but few pursue.
Cable Sky Diving operates with all the same safety procedures and
equipment of the Cable Hang Gliding. The trapeze of the glider is
folded away and you are suspended below the apparatus. The harness
is fitted with leg straps to assist you in keeping your legs straight.
This time you launch yourself from the summit platform and experience
the sensation of flying with the ability to steer yourself similar
to a skydiver in high speed through the air. Once at the bottom
you will be winched back to the launching platform for your second
flight, but this time you will be launched backwards. Definitely
not for the faint hearted.
For the Cable Sky Diving there is a minimum height requirement
of 155cm, and a maximum weight limit of 110kg.
The System >>
Our system consists of a main steel cable that is suspended between
two steel support poles that are approximately 300 metres apart.
The summit or launching platform is situated at the high end of
the cable system and has a vertical height difference of 50 metres
from the pole at the lower end.
You are launched from the summit platform, and gravity takes
over. It takes approximately 26 seconds to travel the 300 metres
and can generate speeds of around 50km/hr dependant on wind conditions.
You descend into the valley and once at the bottom you are winched
back up to experience the thrill a second time. The whole experience
takes around 5mins per person so therefore large groups can still
be catered for.
Location >>
Airborne Action is located on Quarry Rd, about 100 metres up from
the Victor Harbor Road turnoff, just across the river from Old Noarlunga.
We are situated in the foothills and have a spectacular view of
our surrounding areas. We are only 5 minutes drive from the McLaren
Vale wine region... just off the Victor Harbor Road, 1km from Main
South Rd intersection, so why not make a day of it! See
